Chuck & Bonnie Neufeld

We first came to Markham in 1974 for a two-year service term with Mennonite Voluntary Service. We stayed for nearly fourteen years! In 1987 we moved to Kansas to take on a new position with MVS. Some nine years later (1996) Community Mennonite Church invited us to return to Markham, this time as co-pastors of the congregation. We’re glad we accepted the invitation. We are so thankful for the rich evidence of God’s blessing.

Any congregation that declares itself a “refuge” for all, is a courageous bunch indeed. We are proud to be associated with this unique collection of believers. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide us as we celebrate the incredible diversity of God’s Kingdom. We pray that the truth of Christ will always be the basis for our vision; a vision that calls us to break down walls; the very walls that all too often divide us. As creatures made in God’s image, we are committed to reflecting God’s boundless and unending love, regardless of race, gender, culture, economic status, or any other earthly categories. God help us in our commitment to this profound and life-giving vision!
